Surf & Turf
Thursday 20th July
Last full day in Newquay, so there was a lot to cram in. Surfing in the lovely blue Cornish sea followed by gruelling, but fun, cliff jumping off the beautiful Fistral coastline during Coasteering! The Newquay surf didn't disappoint as the waves were perfect for our Surfers. Plenty of action with many of our Surfers being able to 'ride the waves'. Coasteering was a fantastic experience, scaling the, in part, rugged Newquay coastline, then jumping off the cliff edge! Our keen Surfers found the terrain hard work, but in true Beacon fashion, their perseverance paid off by being able to swim against the tide and 'choppy waters'. The photos don't do our Surfers justice, but I hope you are able to appreciate the sheer drops our Surfers overcame. There were others schools in the water, who were struggling, but Beacon Surfers out swam and outshone them all, much to the praise of their instructor, who said "this is one of the finest groups I ever had!" High praise from our veteran instructor! The day didn't end there, we ended up at the Surfers Restaurant for a juicy burger by the sea before heading back for our very own prize giving ceremony. Fabulous end to the week, thank you Beacon Surfers 2017!
Wednesday 19th July
Another great day surfing, but with the bonus activity of Zorbing. Everyone had a stomach churning time!
Tuesday 18th July
Day 2 - Amazingly despite some parts of Cornwall being flooded, we didn't have a drop of rain! Fingers crossed the good weather continues! We had a successful first lesson surfing, which all our Surfers enjoyed. Had a fabulous day, which continued into the evening with Mr Patel's Beach BBQ! Looking forward to another day of surfing and our Surfers try Zorbing tomorrow!
Monday 17th July
Surfers had a great day enjoying the sights of Newquay. We had a lovely stroll on the beach before going to the world famous Fistral Beach to see the professional Surfers in action. After a long coastal walk, we enjoyed fish and chips on the way back to our hotel. Looking forward to our first surfing lesson tomorrow!
